What happens if you only wear one contact lense?

You didn't say but since you mentioned that the contact you have is for your left eye I assume your contacts are prescription and not some of the crazy Hallowween ones? It really depends on how bad your uncorrected vision is. The stronger the power of lenses you require the harder it will be for you. Your not going to do any harm to your eyes, but after trying to get by seeing with just your left eye you probably will get a nice headache. Now if your prescription is on the weak side it won't be nearly as bad. So you must be wearing glasses most other times and of course glasses won't go with your outfit that night. I think by the end of the evening you will be glad to take off that contact and put your glasses on.

If you go as "Mr Peanut" you could use a monocle for the right eye; problem solved.

Seriously, it won't hurt your vision, things might be a little weird, like depth perception a bit messed up, etc, but won't do any harm. If the left & right eye contacts are nearly the same, you might be able to use a "left" contact in the right eye.

..if you do it just for the time being around at Halloween this won't harm your eyes at all, so go and have fun. If you don't use contacts at all later you might have a bit of different feeling when you look at somebody but that's it..

the unaccompanied eye will compensate (or decompensate) during the incongruent compensation. this simply means that the unaccompanied eye will be using its internal muscular system to make up for the correction absence. for a brief event (one evening) there will be no harm to either eye -- just the possibility of a headache that evening -- or a bit of vertigo (dizziness). Do Not Drive until both eyes are equally treated. And Have Fun !

Not true. My doctor prescribed only one contact lens for me. My eyes adapted and I didn't need glasses, just the one contact.

Not for a day. Who knows? It might even help you to learn to spell. (It's LENS, not "lense".) In fact, not even for a month. <
